Multivariate techniques to choose knowledge management approach based on organization processes

Knowledge management is vital in organization management and is done through different strategies, which are mainly based on the two basic knowledge approaches called explicit-oriented approach or tacit-oriented approach. In this paper, we have tried to consider the type of knowledge strategy of organizations in a new classification including routine or non-routine organizations. Thus, two important knowledge strategies of organizations, explicit-oriented or tacit-oriented, are evaluated through questionnaire in 64 companies of the routine or non-routine type. Then, relation between knowledge condition of the companies and their types was determined through logistic regression and it was found out that the companies which use explicit knowledge, are more routine and vice versa, the companies with tacit knowledge are more non-routine.
